Asian markets mixed on Wednesday, Japan closed for holiday

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Hong Kong’s Hang Seng (+0.83%) and Mainland China’s Shanghai Composite (+2.61%) have recovered losses made since the weekend trigger, the bailout to Cyprus, but South Korea’s Kospi (-0.97%) and India’s Bombay Sensitive (-0.47%) fell on Wednesday. Japan was closed for Vernal Equinox Day.

Futures for the German DAX 30 (+0.32%) and the French CAC 40 (+0.50%) are signaling a higher opening ahead of EMU current account and consumer confidence report. German PPI contracted -0.1% in February instead of improving +0.2% as expected. The annualized data eased from 1.7% to 1.2%, below the 1.5% consensus.

Forex: EUR/USD muted after German PPI

The shared currency posted no reaction after German producer Prices came in short of expectations on Wednesday, rising 1.2% over the last twelve months and contracting 0.1% MoM, vs. 1.5% and 0.2% expected, respectively...
